Sunday, September 22 – Saturday, September 28, 2019: Project Updates

• The following activities were completed for this week: installation of bridge fence; milling of the existing surface asphalt on Monroe Street between 7th and 10th Streets and on 8th Street between Monroe Street and Lawrence Street; placed surface asphalt and temporary pavement markings on Monroe Street between 7th and 10th Streets and on 8th Street between Monroe Street and Lawrence Street; and power washed the platform and cleaned debris from the track ballast under span 2 and on the track level. The contractor also worked during the night time hours of 9:00 pm to 5:30 am Monday and Tuesday (milling the existing asphalt and placement of temporary markings) and from 11:00 pm to 5:30 am on Saturday (cleaning debris).

• Due to construction, there is no parking on Monroe Street from 7th - 8th Street NE.

• Signs directing motorist and bicyclist have been posted. Please stay alert and obey signage when traveling through this area.

Sunday, September 8 – Saturday, September 14, 2019: Project Updates

• The following activities were completed for this week: placed asphalt and preparation work for the Phase 3 traffic switch; completed deck grooving on spans 1 to 3 and both approach slabs (south side); bridge fence installation; removal of Phase 2 traffic controls, placed temporary pavement markings and switched the traffic on the bridge to Phase 3; saw cutting the north side damaged sidewalk for repairs and Phase 3 construction; and framing and rebar installation and hard surface excavation for the sidewalk installation on the bridge. The contractor also worked during the night time hours of 7:00 pm to 5:30 am Monday through Friday on the installation of the bridge fence on the bridge parapet (spans 1 to 3).

• The following activities were completed for this week: preparation work for the concrete sidewalk, brick gutter and granite curb installation on 8th Street and on Monroe Street; and placement of temporary asphalt and removal of temporary barrier from the bridge. The contractor also worked during the night time hours of 7:00 pm to 5:30 am Monday through Friday on the installation of the bridge fence on the bridge parapet (spans 1 to 3).
