(There was no construction activity completed on Sunday, May 26th or Monday, May 27th due to the Memorial Day Holiday)

• The contractor completed the following activities for this week: installation of the wood deck form work for Phase 2; demolition of the east existing approach slab and trench excavation for the proposed 6-way Pepco conduit duct bank; placement of 6-way Pepco conduit and poured concrete for the duct bank at the east abutment; installation of expansion dam at the east approach; installation of shear studs on beams at spans 1 and 3; installation of 12” gas main at west end approach; caulking and sealing deck form to prevent concrete grout leakage on to the WMATA and CSX tracks; and installation of rebar for bridge deck.

• Due to construction, there is no parking on Monroe Street from 7th - 8th Street NE.

• Signs directing motorist and bicyclist have been posted. Please stay alert and obey signage when traveling through this area.

• The contractor completed the following activities for this week: continued utility supports installation and wood and SIP deck form installation for steel beams at spans 1 and 3; continued preparation work for the 12” gas main tie in at the west abutment; and installed debris net under span 2 over the WMATA platform.

• The contractor completed the following activities for this week: continued utility supports installation and torquing bolted connection from steel beams at spans 1 and 3; continued preparation work for the 12” gas main tie in at the west abutment; started overhang form installation for the steel beam at spans 1 and 3; and started shim plates installation at pier 1 under the steel beam.·

• The contractor completed the following activities for this week: continued diaphragms installation and torqueing the bolted connection from the steel beams at spans 1 to 3; continued removing form which was installed for type 4 repairs and cleaned up at west abutment (A); continued preparation work for the 12” gas main installation; and completed the installation of the 12” gas main. There were activities performed this week that required the overnight closure (11:00pm - 7:00am) of all lanes of traffic on the bridge.
