Sunday July 22 2018 - Friday July 27, 2018:

  • The contractor worked at the north side of Monroe Street Bridge NE within the construction zone, pouring pier caps concrete and continued existing concrete repair on abutments. DDOT and  PEPCO continued  preparation work for the electrical and communication cable relocation on the bridge. All traffic maintained with two open lanes eastbound and westbound with the exception of Wednesday, July 25th when the Bridge was temporarily closed from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to set up the crane for the pier cap placement.

Saturday, July 28, 2018:

  • The Monroe Street Bridge was closed on Saturday until 9:00 PM to set the crane and install the beams.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Due to construction, there is no parking on Monroe Street from 7th - 8th Street NE.
  • Signs directing motorist and bicyclist have been posted. Please stay alert and obey signage when traveling through this area.

  • The contractor worked at the north side of Monroe Street NE Bridge within the construction zone, installing and securing proposed reinforcing steel cage for piers cap. All traffic maintained with two open-lanes eastbound and westbound.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Due to construction, there is no parking on Monroe Street from 7th - 8th Street NE.
  • Signs directing motorist and bicyclist have been posted. Please stay alert and obey signage when traveling through this area.

Sunday July 8, 2018 - Friday July 14, 2018:

  • The contractor worked at the North Side of Monroe St Bridge NE within the construction zone, installing and securing proposed reinforcing steel cage for piers cap. Contractor also excavated and installed proposed utility underground conduits, encased, backfilled and compacted at the intersection of 8th Street and Monroe Street NE. All traffic maintained with two open-lanes eastbound and westbound.

  • Signs directing motorist and bicyclist have been posted. Please stay alert and obey signage when traveling through this area.

Sunday July 1, 2018 - Friday July 6, 2018:

  • The contractor worked at the north side of Monroe Street NE Bridge within the construction removing piers and back wall at Abutments. Contractor also excavated and installed proposed conduits, encased, backfilled and compacted at the intersection of 8th Street and Monroe Street NE. Trenches secured using steel plates. All traffic maintained with two open-lanes eastbound and westbound.
